Here’s something for your kids who might be bored already on the first day of Fall Break. Math is actually quite fascinating.

We are taking every precaution to keep our students safe from the heat during the past few days. Both yesterday (Monday) and today we have had modified lunch recess (30 minutes instead of 45) and students are holding their recess time inside the class, where the air conditioning is working beautifully. At lunchtime, students are eating on the covered lunch area then going inside the cool auditorium to wait for their teachers. Hopefully the temperatures will drop by Wednesday so that we can resume normal outdoor activities.
ELAC meeting will be held in the auditorium Friday, September 19th at 8:30am.
Reunión de ELAC se llevará a cabo en el auditorio Viernes, 19 de septiembre a las 8:30 am.

We are approaching the final week of 1st quarter and here are the big events for this week.
Parent conferences and minimum days continue all week. Students will be released at 1:15 every day this week so don’t forget to make arrangements for their early dismissal.
This Friday our Garden Club is hosting a visit from the American Heart Association who are considering our school for a generous grant. In support of this effort, we are asking everyone to wear an American Heart Association shirt, if you have one, or the color RED. Let’s show the American Heart Association both our support for their worthy cause and our Camarena school spirit.
Fall Break is from September 20 to October 6. School resumes on Tuesday, October 7 1t 8:15 AM. Enjoy some time with your family in beautiful San Diego County.
In honor of Patriot Day (September 11, 2014) we are encouraging all students to wear red, white and blue on Thursday. We will have a moment of silence during our morning announcements and teachers will discuss the significance of Patriot Day in age appropriate ways. You are encouraged to post small flags in your yard to support this unique day in American history.
Our School Site Council meeting for September 10 has been postponed. Once we have a new date confirmed, we will notify the public and invite one and all to attend. Thanks a million
