Beating the Heat at Camarena

Screenshot 2014-09-16 06.47.52We are taking every precaution to keep our students safe from the heat during the past few days.  Both yesterday (Monday) and today we have had modified lunch recess (30 minutes instead of 45) and students are holding their recess time inside the class, where the air conditioning is working beautifully. At lunchtime, students are eating on the covered lunch area then going inside the cool auditorium to wait for their teachers.  Hopefully the temperatures will drop by Wednesday so that we can resume normal outdoor activities.

We are approaching the final week of 1st quarter and here are the big events for this week.

Parent conferences and minimum days continue all week.  Students will be released at 1:15 every day this week so don’t forget to make arrangements for their early dismissal.

This Friday our Garden Club is hosting a visit from the American Heart Association who are considering our school for  a generous grant.  In support of this effort, we are asking everyone to wear an American Heart Association shirt, if you have one, or the color RED.  Let’s show the American Heart Association both our support for their worthy cause and our Camarena school spirit.
