Hanover Survey – Thanks to all of the Camarena families who have already completed the Hanover Survey to provide input on both Camarena Elementary and the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey before we leave on March 20.
California Parent School Climate Survey, 2014-15
Every year, the state of California sends out the Healthy Kids Survey. The purpose of the survey is to obtain parent perceptions of student behavior and attitudes, school programs and policies, and the overall school climate as they relate to student well-being and learning. It deals with such issues as truancy, safety, harassment, substance use, school connectedness, and learning supports. The survey is a companion to the California Healthy Kids Survey and the California School Climate Survey for staff.
In order to take this survey please proceed to the Parent School Climate Survey site. You will enter the code:

Service with a smile in the TK Kitchen space. Our TK students learn social skills during Discovery Centers led by their amazing teacher duet of Ms. Huezo and Ms deAlva.
Dr. Francisco Escobedo, Superintendent of CVESD made his biannual visit to Camarena to see what the Robo Griffins were learning. Here Sean gives him a tour of 5th grade math.
Ava is showing how she has solved her math problem using repeated addition, drawing, and manipulatives. Our students are gaining a deep understanding of mathematical principles from grades TK to 6th Grade.
The Soccer Team fought to a 3-3 tie with Discovery on Thursday. They are getting better and better every day and showing wonderful team spirit. I also appreciated the sportsmanship of both teams, including the sportsmanlike team from Discovery.
