This Week at Camarena February 23-27

We have some exciting events coming our way this week at Camarena including a visit from a delegation of Chinese students and educators beginning this Tuesday. Here are the events and details of interest on our campus.

Monday 236th Graders leave for Camp Marston

Tuesday 24Chinese Delegation Welcome Ceremony (8:15 AM) Come on out to enjoy the festivities which will include the American and Chinese National Anthems.  Our guests will be with us through Wednesday, March 4 as we learn from one another about the strengths of our respective educational systems.  Jr. Soccer (4:00 PM),  PTA Boot Camp (6:00 PM)

Wednesday 252015-16 Kinder and New Student Information Meeting (6:00 PM)  Speaking of welcoming, it’s time to meet our new Camarena families as we prepare for the 2015-16 school year with information about registration, Dual Immersion, and the start of the next school year in July.

Thursday 26 – Soccer (4:00 PM),  PTA Zumba (6:00 PM)

Friday 27 – 6th Graders Return from Camp Marston

Valeria was very proud of her writing about the Howler Monkey.  Did you know that only the Orca Whale is louder than the Howler Monkey?

Thanks to our fantastic cheer squad, we always have a festive atmosphere at Camarena Athletic events.

Our Basketball team lost a dramatic 1-point game to Olympic View on Thursday, but they played with heart and determination and they’ll be back in a week to take on the next foe.

The soccer team competed fiercely with Veterans on Thursday coming up on the short end of  a 3-0 score.

Preparations were underway for our visitors from the Great land of China!

And, now a drumroll please, the final tally for our Jump Rope 4 Heart is in.  Last year we raised a shocking $18,000 and set our sites on $20,000.  Well, the Camarena community showed their generosity and support of the American Heart Association by raising an astounding…
